A Legal Disclaimer

1. Rental Agreement

  • By booking and staying at Sawdust City Sands you agree to the following terms and conditions. This rental agreement is between the guest and the property owner.

 

2. Booking and Payment

  • Deposit: A deposit of one night’s rent is required to confirm your reservation.

  • Full Payment: The remaining balance is due 5 days prior to your arrival date.

  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made within 48 hours will forfeit the deposit. No refunds for early departures.

 

3. Check-In/Check-Out

  • Check-In Time: 3pm on the arrival date, early check-in must be approved in advance.

  • Check-Out Time: 11am on the departure date.

  • Late Check-Out: Late check-out requests must be approved in advance and may incur additional charges.

 

4. Occupancy

  • Maximum Occupancy: The maximum occupancy is 6 persons without prior approval. Exceeding this limit without approval may result in additional charges or termination of the rental agreement without refund.

  • Visitors: Visitors are allowed during the day, but overnight stays by unregistered guests are not permitted.

 

5. Pets

  • Service animals only are permitted at no charge.  

6. Smoking

  • Smoking and vaping of tobacco or cannabis is only permitted outside the building and only on the property associated with the building. Smoking indoors will result in additional cleaning fees.

 

7. House Rules and Bylaws

  • Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are between 11pm and 7am and excessive noise is not permitted at any time. Please respect the neighbours.

  • Cleanliness: Guests are expected to maintain the cleanliness of the cottage. Excessive cleaning required after check-out will result in additional fees.

  • Trash Disposal: Guests are responsible for disposing of trash and recycling in the designated bins. Recycled materials include glass, plastic, metal and paper and all can be placed in the same recycling bin. If the bins become full, please advise the property manager and he will remove them and provide new bags for each bin.

  • The Town of Gravenhurst demands that all guests at short-term rental facilities within the municipality must sign a Renters Code of Conduct form verifying that they are aware that contravention of bylaws may result in the property owner loosing their lisence or charges to the renter themselves.  These bylaws include but are not limited to: Noise contrary to By-law, allowing dogs off leash contrary to By-law, parking on the road or premises contrary to By-law, leaving garbage on premises that creates nuisance, outdoor burning contrary to By-law.

8. Damage 

  • Damages: Any damage to the property or its contents must be reported immediately. Guests are liable for repair or replacement costs.

 

9. Liability

  • The property owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that occur on the premises. Guests assume the risk for any activities undertaken during their stay.

  • The property owner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables.

10. Right to Enter

  • The property owner or their representative reserves the right to enter the property for necessary repairs or inspections, with reasonable notice to the guest.

11. Force Majeure

  • The property owner is not liable for any failure to perform obligations due to unforeseen events such as natural disasters, war, or other events beyond their control.
